Bands promote their music on 'Guitar Hero'

Music video games have become the new way for bands to get airplay for their songs.
Several additions are planned for the latest edition of the popular Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero World Tour (out Sunday for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Sony PlayStation 2 and 3).
Available for download on Nov. 7 is "Another Way to Die," the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace, by Jack White and Alicia Keys ($1.99.)
Also on the way: three songs from the late Jimi Hendrix ("Little Wing," "If 6 was 9" and "Fire") and The Raconteurs ("Salute Your Solution," "Hold Up" and "Consoler of the Lonely" ($1.99 per song or $5.49 for three-packs).
"We consider it just another way to get our music heard," says the band's Brendan Benson.
Rival game Rock Band 2 is also getting some new tunes. Publisher Harmonix has released a new list of 20 songs for the game that focuses and up-and-coming acts. They include "Get It On" by The Chevelles, "Like a Fool" by Shaimus, and "No Regrets" by Authority Zero.
