Hitachi Data Systems Promotes Jack Domme as CEO

Hitachi Data Systems has promoted Jack Domme as the Chief Executive Officer and Minoru Kosuge as the Chairman of Hitachi Data Systems. The new executive appointments are effective from April 1, 2009.

I look forward to leading the company as we continue our expansion in key growth areas where we can leverage our leadership in storage and data virtualization, such as file and content services and modular storage,” said Jack Domme, Chief Executive Officer, Hitachi Data Systems. “

"I look forward to continuing to work with Domme and the entire HDS leadership team to further build upon the company’s culture and legacy in strategic focus areas,” said Minoru Kosuge, Chairman, Hitachi Data Systems.

Domme first joined Hitachi Data Systems in 2003 and has held a number of management positions. Prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer, he served as Executive Vice President of Global Solutions Strategy and Development responsible for product design, technical strategies and product management. Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, he served as Vice President of product and sales engineering at Storage Networks.

A 29-year veteran of Hitachi, Kosuge has held a number of positions in corporate and product strategy, IT management, logistics planning and operations. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Storage Architect, collaborating with Hitachi Data Systems Global Sales and Disk Array Systems Division (RSD). From 2003 to 2005, he was Division President of RSD, where he led his team in developing the Universal Storage Platform.
