Netgear Introduces Managed Stackable Switch

CRN Network, Mar. 12 2009, 1230 hrs

Netgear has rolled out Prosafe 24-Port 10/100 MBPS L2 managed stackable switch with static routes FSM7226RS.

The switch with 24-10/100 Mbps ports and 2 combo Gigabit Ethernet ports provide unprecedented flexibility. This enables fiber connectivity through two hot-swappable small form-factor pluggable (SFP) Gigabit interfaces. The non-blocking design of the switches delivers simultaneous, full wire-speed, low-latency throughput to all ports. In addition, the 1U rack-mount form factor uses less rack space and provides a lower per-port cost than comparable Fast Ethernet switches.

It also comes with security features that include IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication ensuring that only authorized users can access the network and Access Control List (ACL) provides higher level of security for specific traffic and applications. Secure management of the switches is available through Secure Sockets Layer (SSLv3) for the Web GUI and Secure Shell (SSH) for Command Line Interface sessions. Multiple switches can be securely managed via SNMPv3 with the vendor's ProSafe Network Management Software NMS100. These switches have an industry standard command line interface (CLI), which enables customers to cut down their operational expenses.

Priced at Rs 26,900, the Prosafe 24-Port 10/100 MBPS L2 Managed Stackable Switch comes with lifetime warranty and is available with Rashi Peripherals and Ingram Micro.
